An unstable air mass is affecting the area until Tuesday afternoon.
Monday will be mainly fine in the morning with localised increased local cloud.
But clouds will gather at noon and in the afternoon which are expected to lead to scattered showers and/or isolated thunderstorms. There may be snow or sleet in the mountains.
Temperatures will be 18 C inland and on the coasts and 7 C in the mountains.
Scattered showers are forecast for tonight but the weather will gradually clear. Temperatures will fall to 6 C inland, around 8 C on the coasts and 2 C in the mountains.
Tuesday will start of mainly fine with localised increased cloud. More clouds will gather at noon and in the afternoon which are expected to lead to scattered showers or thunderstorms. Snow or sleet is possible in the mountains. Temperatures will be about the same levels, which is about average for the time of year.
Wednesday and Thursday will be mainly fine, with some increased local cloud, mainly at noon and in the afternoon. Temperatures will edge up to a little above average for the time of year.
At the time of issue of the early morning weather bulletin, there was 53 cm of snow at Troodos Square.
