Salary pay cuts to stop for employees earning 1,000-2,000 euros

As of 1 January 2022, pay cuts to employees in the public and wider public sector, whose salaries are 1,000-2,000 euros monthly, will stop. In December 2012, within the framework of taking fiscal consolidation measures, there were pay cuts to the salaries of 86,000 workers and pensions were taken.

The restoration of salaries is part of the agreement of gradually stopping the pay cuts in the salaries, an agreement that was made between the Finance Ministry and trade unions.

This is the fifth and penultimate stage of the agreement for the restoration of the salaries of workers and pensioners, which began in July 2018 and will be completed in January 2023.
