Retail trade sector opens after covid lockdown under strict monitoring, KEVE warns

The monitoring of health measures and protocols aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus will be strict and persistent as from Monday when the island’s retail trade sector opens after the latest total lockdown.

This is what Philenews reported on Thursday, adding that the efforts by health authorities and police to ensure that all precautionary measures are respected will be strengthened by members of the Labour Ministry’s Inspection Department.

Measures include mandatory systematic rapid tests by employees, and this is what the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEVE) reminded in a circular sent out to its members on Wednesday.

The circular also warned that the manufacturing sector will come under an especially strict monitoring regime. That is, on factories, workshops and other premises which are active in processing materials and other products in the construction sector.

An especially strict monitoring regime will include old peoples’ homes and shopping malls.

KEVE also noted that the Ministry’s Inspection Department has recently revised all relevant guidelines and information on measures to contain the virus.

These were prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and are posted on the website of the Inspection Department as well as of the Press and Information Office.
