Restaurant owners protest outside Presidential Palace about Safepass

Dozens of restaurant owners went outside the Presidential Palace this morning while the cabinet meeting under President Anastasiades about the new Covid measures was taking place.

The restaurant owners were protesting about the fact that they have to check whether their customers have a Safe pass or a rapid test or if they have to appoint someone to do so due to the fines and criminal responsibilities involved in the relevant decree.

In a statement, Fanos Leventis, president of the union of restaurant owners said that it was a symbolic mobilization to send a crystal-clear message that they still disagree with this provision in the decree that needs to be reviewed.

He noted that dialogue is needed and then they will certainly find a solution.
