Rain on the way as low pressure system affects Cyprus

Low pressure will affect the area from the evening bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Thursday will be start off with increased high cloud, becoming gradually mainly cloudy with scattered showers and or thunderstorms which may be accompanied by hail.

Temperatures will be 19 C inland and on the coasts and around 9 C in the mountains.

Tonight will be mainly cloudy with scattered showers or thunderstorms. Snow or sleet is expected in the mountains.  There may be light dust in the atmosphere. Temperatures will drop to 6 C inland, around 8 C on the coasts and 2 C in the mountains.

Friday will be cloudy at intervals with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Snow or sleet is possible in the mountains. There may be dust in the atmosphere. Temperatures will be edge down to a little below average for the time of year.

The weekend will be mainly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms which may be accompanied by hail, while snowfall is forecast in the mountains.

Temperatures will edge down further, remaining below average for the time of year.
