Police fined 88 citizens and 3 premises all across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for violations of Covid-19 measures.
They had carried out a total of 11,059 checks, a police spokesperson told CNA.
The majority of fines concerned the movement of pedestrians or vehicles without first sending an sms for approval or having a relevant form. Other were fined for nor wearing a mandatory protective mask.
In Nicosia, four fines were issued for citizens and one for a premise after conducting 2,055 checks.
In Limassol, 51 citizens were booked after 2,444 checks and 13 citizens were fined in Larnaca after 2,837checks.
In Paphos, nine fines were issued for citizens and 2 for premises after 1,682 checks, and in Famagusta 9 citizens were booked after 1,195 checks.
In Morphou, two fines were issued to individuals after a total of 606 checks.
In addition, Cyprus Port & Marine Police carried out 27 checks with no fines handed out.
