Police fine two shop owners and 17 citizens for violations of COVID measures

Police fined 2 shop owners and 17 citizens for violations of COVID measures in a total of 2, 188 checks island-wide the last 24 hours.

An officer from the Police Press Office told the Cyprus News Agency that in Paphos a grocery shop was fined with 500 euros because the owner did not wear a face mask and there were no signs against the spread of Covid. In Nicosia one hair salon was fined because there were too many customers in the shop violating the number permitted at a certain time. The owner was also fined with 500 euros.

In Nicosia the checks were 845 and a shop owner and 3 individuals were fined, in Larnaka the Police conducted 374 checks and fined 4 citizens, in Limassol in 229 checks 7 people were fined, in Pafos Police made 127 checks and fined a shop and in Morphou no violations were detected in 138 checks. In Famagusta 3 individuals were fined in  349 checks.

No violations were detected in a total of 13 checks by the Marine Police and 113 checks by the Traffic Department.
