Police fine 89 citizens in 24 hours for breach of covid measures

Police booked 89 citizens all across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for breach of measures aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The Force had carried out a total of 11,205 checks, according to CNA.

In Nicosia, out of 2,923 checks 12 citizens were booked, while in Limassol 2,835 checks led to 34 citizens getting fines.

In Larnaca, police carried out 1,175 checks and fined nine citizens.

In Paphos, out of 1,256 checks 11 citizens were booked, while in Famagusta out of 1,224 checks 13 citizens were booked.

In Morphou, police carried out 694 checks and booked three citizens.

At the same time, Port and Marine Police carried out 39 checks and issued no fines.
