Police attacked in Limassol during traffic checks-3 arrested

 

Police were attacked by three people in Limassol during a a fatal traffic accident campaign.

The three youths were arrested just before midnight at the Enaerios area, during checks by police patrols. Officers spotted that their cars and motorbikes were modified.

According to reports, the officers were attacked, as they attempted to stop the drivers for checks. The youths were subsequently arrested, charged in writing and released, to be called later as a case was opened against them.

Dozens of drivers were charged yesterday with traffic violations in Limassol, as a campaign was launched yesterday afternoon over a 12 hour period.

78 drivers were fined for running the traffic lights, illegal parking, modified cars and motorbikes and driving without a license.
4 cars, 10 motorbikes, three mopeds and a quad bike were confiscated.
