Paphos: ‘Intoxicated’ man arrested on suspicion of assaulting neighbours with knife

A Russian couple has filed a complaint against their British neighbour who allegedly forced his way into their Paphos home through the balcony and assaulted them with a knife on Thursday night, philenews reports.

The 42-year-old Briton was reportedly out of control, breaking everything in sight after he broke the glass balcony door and entered the house of the Russians, aged 47 and 36, when they refused to open the front door to their home in the Tombs of the Kings area in Paphos.

After causing extensive damage to the house, he ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife that he used to assault one of the Russians injuring him in the arm.

The couple managed to escape into the bedroom and called the police who sped to the scene and arrested the 42-year-old who was found to be intoxicated.

The 47-year-old injured Russian was taken to the Paphos hospital were he was treated by doctors and then released.

The damages to the home are estimated at around €1,000.
