Paphos: Basement of police district HQ flooded

The basement of the divisional police headquarters in Paphos, which houses the police cells, has flooded a result of the heavy rains of previous days, the Cyprus News Agency reports.

It said that all persons being held in custody there have been transferred to Polis Chrysochous police station while repair work has started on the roof of the building.

The divisional headquarters were built about 12 years ago. This is not the first time that the basement has flooded and prisoners moved to other police stations, it added.
