Ozersay reveals problems with tracing contacts in Turkish-held areas

“Foreign minister” Kudret Özersay said on Friday via social media that some people found positive to Covid-19 in the Turkish-held north deliberately provide false information and hide their recent close contacts.

He said that he has already raised the matter with the so-called attorney general and it was agreed that these people will face charges.

“This irresponsibility cannot go unpunished,” he said, adding that “legislation” on endangering people’s lives by withholding information during a contagious illness stipulates up to 2 years imprisonment.
