Over 1,200 families in Cyprus benefit from “Baby’s Dowry” project

A total of 1,235 families have benefited from “Baby’s Dowry” which is a project implemented by the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Security between December 2017 and December 31, 2019.

Its overall cost has amounted to €1,197,890 – so far.

The project aims to reduce material deprivation and the risk of social exclusion of families who are Minimum Guaranteed Income or State Aid recipients. Also benefiting are families experiencing particular financial problems based on relevant reports by social workers.

The “Baby’s Dowry” project includes free provision of basic consumer goods such as equipment, linen, baby diapers as well as personal baby hygiene and care.

Interested parties must submit an application at local district social service offices or through the Social Welfare Services website or that of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance which is: www.mlsi.gov.cy. Applications, as specified, must be submitted in full at social welfare offices.

The project is co-financed by the Republic of Cyprus and the European Union through the European Fund for Disabled Persons under the Cyprus Operational Program for Food and/or Basic Materials and Assistance.
