YEU Cyprus in call for volunteers to live in Spain for 5-9 months

Youth for Exchange and Understanding (YEU) Cyprus is calling on Cypriot youths to apply for volunteering positions in various locations in Spain.

The organisation currently has three vacancies for Cypriots or residents of Cyprus to work for Spanish charities A LA PAR in Montecarmelo, Madrid, The Betesda Foundation, also in Madrid, and BASIDA in Aranjuez, Manzanares, and Navahondilla.

Accommodation and board will be provided in an individual room into the hosting project. Successful volunteers will be living in co-habitation, spending their day with the workers and other volunteers and also with the users.

The aim of the programmes according to YEU is for young people to experience life in each charitable institution, “which results in the enrichment and the bringing together of European people.”

For BASIDA, the duration of employment is 5-9 months with flexible dates. The successful candidate will be working in a community with disabled and elderly people, as well as HIV positive people.

The Betesda Foundation is a residence for disabled people in Madrid, and duration of employment for the chosen candidate is nine months starting in February 2020.

For A LA PAR, the duration is six months and the starting date is immediately. Volunteers will be working with disabled people and creating workshops for that target group.

Candidates can send their CV at [email protected] by February 8, 2020.
