A yellow alert is on place from 8am till 5pm on Monday with the weather forecast being mostly cloudy with intermittent rains, isolated storms and snow in the higher mountains.
In some areas the effects are likely to be prolonged or intense and visibility will be temporarily limited due to increased low clouds or even fog, according to the Met Service.
Winds will be initially north-easterly to south-easterly, turning to south-westerly in the afternoon, mainly moderate with strong headwinds up to 5 Beaufort at times.
The sea will be rough to moderate.
And the temperature will rise to 15 C inland, 17 C on the coast and 7 C in the higher mountains.
On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy with isolated local showers and snow or sleet on the highest peaks of Troodos mountains.
On Wednesday and Thursday the weather will be partly cloudy with the temperature slowly rising to reach just above the season’s average.
Snow in Troodos Square is 7 cm high.
