The Water Board is running out of reserves after desalination plants stopped operation because of stormy seas.
As a result, water supply has stopped in parts of Nicosia, while reserves in Paphos, Larnaca and Famagusta have also been affected.
The board is appealing to consumers to use water sparingly.
Because the desalination plants have stopped operation, the board’s stocks are at critically low levels and supply has been cut to Strovolos. Engomi and Ayios Dhometios will also be affected.
Nicosia Water Board director Nicos Zambakides called for patience.
Besides the capital, Paphos city council said that there are problems at the Asprokremmos refinery.
Water supply has also been affected in Larnaca and Famagusta, according to the Water Development Department.
