Two tourists, a man and a woman, were killed when their car went off a 30 metre cliff in the Kakoskali area, near Aphrodite Baths in the Akamas, the Cyprus News Agency said.
It said that first responders took the bodies on a police launch to Latchi fishing shelter from where an ambulance transferred them to Polis Hospital where doctors certified their death.
Police said a member of the public had informed them that he had seen a rental car at the bottom of the cliff at around 14.15.
Police and the coast guard were alerted. Reports said the couple — a 58 year old man and a 48 year old woman were Russian.
Neo Chorio community leader Andreas Chsristodoulou expressed regret and said the road was very dangerous because it is very narrow.
