Three men reversed a stolen car into the shop window of a Limassol bakery at 4.30 am on Wednesday seeking cash from the till, only to find it empty, the Cyprus News Agency reported.
It said the incident occurred at Yermasoyia. The bakery was closed at the time and an employee who was in the basement remained there when she heard the noise.
The Cyprus News Agency said the perpetrators broke into the cash register but found it empty and sped off in a car which had been reported as stolen.
Police are investigating.
