Police investigations into a fire that completely destroyed a kindergarten in the Phaneromeni area of Larnaca early on Monday are still at their initial stages but the owner is reported to have been entangled in a financial dispute.
Larnaca police spokesman Charalambos Zachariou said the owner had financial differences with individuals who are abroad while a car belonging to the owner’s husband had been vandalised last June, when unknown people had fired at it with a gun.
Two fire trucks sped to the scene after they were alerted by citizens alerted a little after midnight but despite their best efforts fire fighters were unable to save the building.
Police have collected evidence and the investigations are continuing.
