A fire that broke near the Maronas area in Paphos has been partly contained having already burnt three hectares of dry grass and wild vegetation.
Earlier on Friday fire fighters managed to contain a blaze which had broken out near the village of Kapilio in the Limassol district at around 1.15 pm.
Forestry Department director Charalambos Alexandrou said that following efforts by fire fighters and five water dropping aircraft the fire near Kapilio has been contained.
He added that two other fires which broke out nearby — near Alassa dam and in the Lania-Limnatis area have also been extinguished.
