Unvaccinated university students demand cheaper PCR tests to be on offer

Relevant News

Unvaccinated university students in Cyprus are demanding cheaper coronavirus molecular tests to be available now that their return to class is synonymous with them.

Organised students argue that the cost will be unbearable now that rapid tests as a SafePass have been ruled out by health authorities.

Phileleftheros also reported on Thursday that the Health Ministry is preparing the opening of a tender for PCR tests whose cost will be below €30 – the standard price now.

The government demands a negative PCR test every 72 hours for all university students who are not vaccinated.

At the same time, the students are expected to ask university authorities to consider the possibility of covering the cost of molecular tests for needy students.

At least the ones who are medically proven that they cannot be vaccinated for various health reasons.
