Two young drivers, aged 17 and 14, booked for dangerous driving

Police in Polis Chrysochous pursued a 17 year old who was spotted driving without registration plates and without wearing a seat belt, managing to stop him only after firing two warning shots in the air.

According to Philenews, police members of the ā€˜Zā€™ unit, signaled to the driver to stop but he ignored their signal, driving off at speed, a police officer on his motorbike in pursuit.

He entered a dirt road and at some point appeared to head straight for the police officer who managed to avoid the car. A second police officer signaled to the driver to stop but he continued, stopping only when the police officer fired two warning shots in the air.

The 17 year old was taken to Polis Chrysochous police station and charged to appear in court at a later date. The registered owner of the car was also charged.

14 year old booked for driving

Police in Polis Chrysochous also obtained testimony of a 14 year old driving recklessly. He was summoned to the police station where he was charged in writing to appear in court at a later date. The registered owner of the vehicle was also charged.
