Two men, both Indian nationals, were remanded in custody for eight days by Limassol district court on Monday after a woman reported to police that they had threatened to publicise a video of her unless she paid them off.
The two are aged 22 and 25. The woman, who is also from India, told police that between December 15 and February 3 they had threatened to publicise a video of her they had obtained on their phones. She is reported to have given them €250, while the two allegedly were demanding €1,200.
Police are probing a case of conspiracy, extortion and violation of the law on private data.
