Two men aged 40 and 60 are under arrest on suspicion of possessing pharmaceuticals not licensed in the Republic of Cyprus. The 60 year old man is a doctor.
Police said that as part of checks in the Ayios Dhometios area of Nicosia on Wednesday, they had arrested the 40 year old after discovering 525 vitamin ampoules and 500 pills which are not licensed.
During their inquiries, they obtained testimony against the 60 year old. They then secured a search warrant of his premises in Nicosia where they found a large quantity of ampules and other pharmaceuticals for which he did not hold a licence. He too was arrested.
Police investigations continue.
