The fierce blaze between Pelathousa and Polis Chrysochous got under control late on Monday but two Paphos-based Kamov 32 firefighting aircraft were sent in the area early on Tuesday.
This was to ensure that the fire was completely put out following the final necessary water drops, authorities said.
At the same time, firefighters had remained on the scene overnight.
The fire had burnt through about one and a half square kilometers of mainly scrubland but a house was also destroyed.
The fire broke out at around 1:42pm on dry grass and wild vegetation and led to some residents being evacuated from their homes.
