Twenty-nine citizens fined for violation of covid-19 protective measures

Police carried out a total of 2,147 inspections across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for violation of COVID-19 protective measures and fined 29 citizens.

Some were not wearing a face mask and others for violating the decree on the evening curfew, according to CNA.

Specifically, police in Nicosia carried out 361 inspection and fined 11 citizens – 9 for not wearing a mask and 2 for the curfew decree. In Limassol, out of 595 inspections, four citizens were fined for breaking the curfew.

In Larnaka, out of 390 checks one citizen only was fined for entering a kiosk without wearing a mask.

In Paphos, out of 260 inspections 7 citizens were fined for not using a mask, while in Famagusta six people were fined out of 420 inspections.

In Morphou area, police carried out 88 inspections and reported no one.

Marine Police also carried out 33 inspections and booked no one.
