Transport Ministry: Repatriation flights until June 19

The Transport Ministry said on Friday that repatriations from countries that are not among the 19 countries (groups A and B) from which flights are permitted will continue until June 19, as per a recent decision of the Council of Ministers.

From June 20, flights from countries not on the list will be permitted only for Cypriots, legal residents and those with special permits.

Countries are categorised by a group of experts based on the epidemiological situation regarding Covid-19.

From June 20, flights will be permitted from countries not included in groups A and B and airlines will be able to issue airline tickets. Only Cypriot citizens, legal residents and people granted special permission will be allowed on these flights. Passengers will follow the protocols issued by the Health Ministry, the announcement added.

All those who have bought tickets to travel from June 9 to June 19 and eligible for repatriation will be briefed by the company about the flight, it added.

Cyprus reopens its airports in two stages, on June 9 and June 20.  All arrivals from June 9 to 20 (groups A and B) must have a Covid-19 free certificate 72 hours prior to departure.

From June 20  there will be no travel restrictions for arrivals from group A. Arrivals from group B (currently six countries) will require the certificate.
