Paphos police are looking for a man who broke into a hostel where tourists were sleeping early on Tuesday morning grabbed their personal possessions and dashed off in a rental car which hit another vehicle as it fled the scene.
The incident occurred around 5.30 am at a hostel inĀ Kato Paphos. The thief broke into the hostel from the balcony door and started grabbing bags, mobile phones and other possessions.
Hostel guests who spotted the man gave chase, but he managed to get away and drive off in a rental car which collided with another vehicle that was parked at the scene. A little later, it was found abandoned.
Police are investigating a case of burglary, theft, causing an accident and abandoning the scene of an accident.
