Top state and government officials: How much is their annual pay?

The attorney general, the deputy attorney general and the president and members of the Supreme Court are the highest paid state officials, according to figures published by Phileleftheros on Sunday citing the 2019 budget.

According to the newspaper, their remuneration in 2019 is €156,179 gross annually (€108,839 net)). This translates into a net monthly salary of €8,460 ( €11,771 prior to deductions).

The president of a district court has annual pay of €88,142. Prior to deductions with allowances (13 months) it is €123,809.  The president of another court as well as a senior district court judge receives €73,983 net a year and €101,642 prior to deductions and with allowances (13 months).

Phileleftheros also published the annual remuneration of other top government and state officials including:

President of the Republic net annually in 2019 €90,257 and prior to deductions with allowances (13 months) €123,296.

President of the House of Representatives net annually €74,414 and prior to deductions €131,090. Monthly salary pre-tax is  €9,578 and post-tax €5,804.

The director of the office of the President of the Republic has net annual pay of €65.,049 and gross (13 months) of €106,902.

Ministers, deputy ministers, government spokesman net €61,594 net and €79,198 gross. Monthly pay pre-tax is €6,142 and post-tax €4,788.

MPs’ net income of €51,557 and gross €63,757. Monthly pay is €4,108 and pre deduction it is €5,046.

The tax commissioner receives €67,827 net and €113,040 gross (13 months).  Monthly it is €5,234 net and €6,846 before deductions.

Deputy tax commissioner €56,388 net and €90,874 gross. Monthly €4,325 net  and €5,464 pre-tax.

Environment Commissioner and Equality Commissioner €55,876 net and €90,083 gross.

President of the Committee for the Protection of Competition €75,277 net and  €123,620 gross with allowances.

Member of the Committee for the Protection of Competition €40,061 net and €58.295 gross.

President of the Public Service Commission €73,322 net and €132,064 gross and a member of the same commission €57,191 net and €97,756 gross.

President of the Education Commission €70,323 net and €125,267 gross and a member of the same committee €53,471 net and €89,80 gross6.

Permanent secretary of a ministry €72,976 net and  €123,620 gross

Director of parliament €72,976 net and €123,620 gross.

Accountant general and auditor general each have an annual net salary of €72,976 and gross pay of  €123,620.

The chief of police and head of the intelligence service (Kyp)  each receive €72,976 net and €123,620 gross
