Paphos police arrested a 34 year old Greek Cypriot in connection with the theft of 160 kilos of avocados in Peyia, the Cyprus News Agency has reported.
The 34 year old was arrested after authorities received testimony linking him to the crime.
A woman aged 34 and a man aged 31 have also been arrested in connection with the case.
The arrests followed a complaint by a farmer that 160 kilos of avocados worth about €300 had been stolen from his fenced field.
The farmer had seen avocados hidden in a bag in his field. He later spotted two people in his field harvesting the fruit and called the police.
