Police report 14 individuals and 15 shop owners over Covid-19 protective measures violation

Cyprus Police fined 14 individuals and 15 shop owners for violating protective measures aiming to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time Monday, the Force carried out a total of 3,162 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.

In Nicosia, the Police carried out 1,172 checks reporting 6 individuals and 6 shop owners, in Limassol 330 checks were carried out with 3 individuals and 2 shop owners fined, in Larnaca 2 shop owners were fined following 783 checks, in Pafos 1 shop owner was reported after 114 checks, in Famagusta 3 persons and 1 shop owner were fined after 471 checks, while in the Morphou region 3 shop owners were fined after 185 checks.

The Traffic Department carried out 105 checks with no fines issued, while 2 persons were reported after 2 checks in airports. No checks were conducted in ports.
