The course of Covid-19 in January – 95 deaths, almost 100,000 confirmed cases

The month of January has been the worst for Cyprus both regarding deaths and confirmed Covid-19 cases since the day the first positive cases have been reported in Cyprus, on 9 March 2020.

The Omicron variant, which was found in our country on 10 December, was described as being super contagious and this was proven true.

The first record was recorded on 27 December with the Health Ministry announcing 1,925 Covid-19 confirmed cases and the positivity rate reaching 5.98%. With yesterday’s announcement of two deaths and 3,396 confirmed cases, the number of deaths for January reached 95 and confirmed cases 95,294.
