Police in Cyprus carried out a total of 500 inspections over the past 24 hours and fined two establishments and 8 citizens for violating measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
There were 50 inspections in Nicosia with one citizen fines, out of 98 insection in Limasso 1 citizen and 1 establishment was booked and 152 inspections in Larnaca led to 3 citizens getting a fine.
In addition, police carried out 98 inspections in Paphos and reported 1 establishment, in Famagusta 76 checks were conducted and 1 premise owner was reported and in Morphou the checks were 26 and 1 citizen was reported.
Most fines are handed out for not wearing a mask where the law makes it mandatory.
