A 13 year old girl found semi-conscious after apparently consuming large amounts of alcohol in Limassol over the weekend is out of danger but remains at Makarios Hospital, Philenews reports.
The girl has been moved from the intensive care unit and is expected to give a statement to police later today.
Police are continuing their inquiries. Limassol CID chief Ioannis Soteriades described the incident as “very serious” and said police were investigating the conditions under which the teenager consumed the alcohol.
Her mother told police that the girl was with friends when at around 7.30 pm on Saturday she went to pick her up in Yermasoyia, she found her semi-conscious and took her to a private clinic in Limassol from where she was transferred to Makarios Children’s Hospital in Nicosia.
Her friends told the mother that she had consumed a large amount of alcohol.
Police are investigating where she obtained the alcohol.
