Suspension of mandatory use of protective mask to be approved

The mandatory use of protective masks will probably be suspended except in high-risk areas such as hospitals and closed structures.

According to Phileleftheros information, a few days ago, the Health Minister asked the members of the Advisory Scientific Committee about some measures against Covid-19 that are still in place, including the use of mask indoors.

Most scientists approve the abolition of the use of face masks under conditions, even though some experts expressed reservations.

There are also thoughts about the frequency of tests needed before visiting high-risk areas, however, the scientists’ positions on the issue were not clear, since they believe that the danger of transmitting the virus to vulnerable persons is still high.

Finally, the Health Ministry is thinking of further reducing the ceiling of the PCR price to 30 euros, but this is also not final yet.

Health Minister Michael Hadjipantelas will examine all positions and then will submit relevant the proposals to the Cabinet, which will meet on Friday, even though it is possible that the issue will be examined during the Cabinet’s meeting next week.
