Members of the Limassol CID arrested two people, aged 25 and 26, following information that they intended to murder Dinos Ellinas, President of the School Board, because the latter allegedly owed them money.

According to the Police on 15 November, a man tipped them that the above two people had asked him to find them guns, because as they told him, Dinos Ellinas owed them 25,000 euros. He said he knew the two men because he was working in their contracting company. The informer said that he managed to find on GLOCK gun through a Palestinian. They all met at a remote area of Agios Athanasios where the brothers paid 4.500 euros for the gun and paid him 1,000 for his mediation. They also made a test-fire. After a while in the same way he arranged for a second gun to be purchased by the brothers again through the Palestinian who this time got 9,000 euros.

The two brothers intended to go to the house of Dinos Ellinas dressed as Santa Clauses and kill him.

The Police evaluated the information and proceeded with the arrest of the two persons. When interrogated the two refused everything. A search at their home brought out nothing.

They said that their company had carried out work at school buildings without any problems and that they had been paid in time.

The Police also arrested the 26-year-old Palestinian who seemed to have supplied the guns to the brothers.

When asked about the issue, Dinos Ellinas said he does not owe anyone any money and nor does the School Board.
