Relevant News

The results of a suspected case of coronavirus in Cyprus after a passenger travelling from Israel displayed symptoms of the disease upon arrival at Larnaca airport late on Friday are negative.

This is what a Health Ministry announcement said early on Saturday.

“The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics informed the Health Ministry that the results in all tests of the coronavirus-suspected patient proved to be negative,” the announcement said.

“Despite the negative results, the patient will remain in hospital for 14 days for a follow-up, in accordance with the protocol and guidelines of the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC),” it added.

The woman suspected of being infected arrived in Cyprus on a private jet, along with three other passengers.

The woman was considered to be of high risk and transferred to the specially designed ward of Nicosia General Hospital.
