Sunshine Sunday but outlook of showers and storms next week

Take in the last of the sunny spells for a while it seems, as the forecast  brings isolated showers and storms for most of next week, coupled with a drop of temperatures and a low pressure system gradually taking hold.

Clear skies today, with high cloud at intervals.

Winds will be light northwesterly to southwesterly force three and in windward regions, moderate force four, over slight seas.

Temperatures will persist much higher than the seasonal average, at 27 Celsius inland, 25 in coastal regions and 17 on the mountains.

A high cloud pattern continues this evening, with mainly northwesterly to northeasterly winds and in northern coastal regions, light southeasterly, force three, over calm to slight seas.

Temperatures will drop to 9 degrees Celsius inland, 15 in coastal regions and 8 on the mountains.

The last week of autumn sees isolated showers and storms, mainly in the west, north and over the mountains, more intense tomorrow and Tuesday and lighter rain forecast on Wednesday.

Temperatures will remain well above the seasonal average tomorrow, but gradually dropping from Tuesday through the end of the week.
