Sara Sians, one of the defendants into the brutal double murder of a school teacher and his wife in Strovolos last year, has changed her plea and admitted to conspiracy to commit a robbery, the Cyprus News Agency reported in Friday.
Yiorgos Hadjigeorgiou and his wife Dina Sergiou were found stabbed to death at their home in what police believe was a botched robbery.
Loizos Tzionis, Lefteris Solomou, Sara Siance and Marios Hadjixenophontos face charges that include premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit a crime, robbery and illegal possession of weapons. All have pleaded not guilty.
During today’s hearing at the Nicosia Criminal Court, defence counsel for Sians said he was withdrawing at her request. She then told the court she had appointed another lawyer who informed the court that she wanted to change her plea on the fourth charge — conspiracy to commit a robbery.
The prosecution read out the charge again and she pleaded guilty.
The trial continues.
