The occupied areas of Cyprus bore the brunt of stormy weather, as the low pressure weather system that has been affecting Cyprus since Tuesday moved northwards.
Storms battered areas in the occupied north on Wednesday night and caused widespread damage, Turkish Cypriot media report.
On Thursday, three people were found dead at the bottom of a cliff by the main Nicosia-Kyrenia highway and another is missing.
Haber Kibris writes that Kyrenia, Karavas and Lapithos were most affected by Wednesday’s storms as roads flooded and landslides were reported.
“In minutes, it’s gone from beautiful sunshine to freezing cold with rumbles of thunder in the distance. I’m not looking forward to this,” a local told Reuters.
People were sewing sandbags to prevent water seeping through window seals and under doors, she said.
Social media images showed cars swept away into the sea, submerged in flood water and water gushing through homes.

Normally dry rivers burst their banks, causing damage in Nicosia, and forcing the partial closure of a motorway linking the city to Kyrenia. Many schools were shut.

“I have never seen anything like it,” said Devin Reid, 25, a resident of occupied northern Nicosia. “Our front street looked like a river.
According to Kibris, in the village of Dikomo, Kyrenia around 100 houses flooded, including the mayor’s house.
Also, a bridge in the area collapsed due to excessive rainfall and all Dikomo roads were closed due to water coming from the mountain. People were reported to have been trapped in their cars.
In Lapithos, floods caused damage to cars and walls to collapse.

Residents have reported virtually uninterrupted rain since early Tuesday, with some saying it was the heaviest in memory.
