Police on Sunday arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with illegal possession of goods after he had allegedly stolen shoes from a warehouse and was selling them at a local bazaar.
The shoes were reported stolen from a company warehouse in Larnaca earlier in December.
A total of 119 pairs of shoes – of various brands – were found in his possession along with a substantial sum of money, apparently from the sale of these goods, according to police.
Following his written consent, a search was carried out at his home in Nicosia where over 200 pairs of shoes have been confiscated.
Under interrogation, the 26-year-old allegedly admitted to committing the above offences but investigations are ongoing.
