Stabbings in Geroskipou: two people in the hospital

Three Syrian political refugees living in Paphos tried to solve their financial differences through violence in the evening of Holy Monday.

The incident happened when two of them visited the third in Geroskipou where he lives. The brawl left two of them seriously injured in the Paphos General hospital and the third one under arrest. The police investigates the possibility of a case of attempted murder.

The individuals involved are Syrian refugees aged 43, 34 and 30. They met on Monday 8 PM at the entrance of a Geroskipou apartment building where the 34-year-old lives. According to the police the three of them had a fight regarding financial differences and two of them hit the 34-year-old who took out a knife and injured them.

The 34-year-old perpetrator of the stabbing was arrested after he gave his testimony. According to the testimony, he met with the others in order to solve some financial differences he had with them. He asserted that both of them attacked him and that he injured them in self defence.
