There will be some cloud today and the possibility of some showers, while unsettled weather is expected from tomorrow and for much of the week.
In its early morning weather bulletin, the Met Office said weak high pressure is affecting the area, while from Tuesday evening weak low pressure will gradually begin to affect the area.
Monday will start off with intervals of sunshine and intervals of increased cloud while in the afternoon local increased cloud may lead to isolated light showers, mainly in the mountains as well as light snowfall in the higher Troodos peaks.
Temperatures will rise to 18 C inland and on the coast and around 10 C in the higher mountains.
Tonight there will be increased cloud that later may lead to isolated showers in the west and north and possible snowfall at intervals in the higher Troodos peaks. Temperatures will fall to 5 C inland, around 8 C on the coast and 1 C in the mountains. In the mountains and semi mountainous area there will be frost locally.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy and at intervals cloudy with a little, mainly light rain as well as snow or sleet in the higher Troodos peaks.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy and at intervals cloudy, with local rain as well as snow or sleet in the higher Troodos peaks.
On Thursday there will be local showers and isolated thunderstorms, snow in the higher mountains, whereas at times there will be strong winds.
Temperatures are expected to remain at the same levels until Wednesday which are slightly above average for the time of year, at least inland and in the mountains, and n Thursday will edge down to close to the seasonal average.
