Sklavenitis Nicosia branch reopens after protocols followed for one positive case

Relevant News

The Health Ministry announced on Wednesday that one positive Covid-19 case was found at the Mall of Engomi branch of Sklavenitis supermarket in Nicosia.

The announcement was made as per the Ministry’s mandate to make public for reasons of public health those public and private authorities where positive Covid cases have been identified.

As with the case of an Alpha Mega branch last week, Sklavenitis’ premises were allowed to reopen after all protocols were followed as per the government’s decrees, and permission was granted to the outlet by the Medical and Public Health Services to relaunch operations.

Under the latest decree, the name of any business that serves the public that detects a positive coronavirus case is given to the public in the interest of public health.

In addition, it can only resume operation with the permission of the Medical and Public Health Services of the Health Ministry subject to taking specific measures including removing all the employees at the premises and disinfecting.

The government has also made testing of all employees in the retail food and drink chain mandatory and told employers they must ensure their staff undergo the test.
