A 44 year old from Limassol was arrested in Paphos late on Monday night after a police pursuit during which shots were fired.
Traffic police spotted a car moving suspiciously on the Achelia-Koloni road and signalled the dirver to stop. Instead he sped off. Warning shots were fired but when the driver continued, they fired at the car’s right tyre, forcing it to stop.
In the car was a 44 year old from Limassol and a 34 year old woman from Paphos. Police checks determined that the car was not registered and had no insurance. Their houses were also searched but nothing suspicious was found.
