Seven policemen found not guilty in spy van case

Relevant News

The unprecedented case against seven members of the Police, who had been indirectly related to the case of the spy van, has finally ended. The said policemen had been checked for serious felonies regarding provision of assistance to an individual, former policeman, in excess of duty.

However, nothing incriminating has emerged against them and on Wednesday 22 June they have been informed that following investigations no disciplinary of criminal offence has been found against them and so the case has been filed.

The case with the van that belongs to Wispear Company of Tal Dilian was revealed in November 2019, after the release of a video presenting a former officer of the Israeli security services referring to the capabilities of the monitoring equipment he had for sale. The Police began investigations, confiscating the van, which had been declared as a meteorological purposes vehicle at the time of its entry in Cyprus.
