Cyprus Police fined 7 individuals and 1 shop owner for violating protective measures aiming to contain the spread of COVID-19.
A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time Friday, the Force carried out 1,647 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.
In Nicosia, the Police carried out 497 checks reporting 3 persons and 1 shop owner, in Limassol 123 checks were carried out, reporting 2 individuals, in Larnaca 1 individual was fined following 315 checks, in Pafos no fines were issued after 41 checks, in Famagusta 1 person was reported following 360 checks.
Furthermore, no fines were issued following 137 checks in Morphou and 144 and 30 checks carried out by the Traffic Departments and the Marine and Port Police respectively.
