Search resumes for missing Eleni

A search for Eleni Plakides, who has been missing from her home in Argakas since Thursday evening resumed on Tuesday morning, with police, the fire service’s rescue response unit, civil defence, the game service, friends and relative focusing on the Akamas peninsula.

The car of the 69 year old German who is married to a Cypriot and has lived in the area for many years was found near the Blue Lagoon last Friday. It was stuck in mud and had been locked. Some personal items were found a few metres away.

She had left her home on Thursday evening to go to a nearby kiosk and has not been seen since.

Police have appealed for the public’s help to find the missing woman. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Polis Chrysochous police station on telephone 26806280. Alternatively they can contact the closest police station, or telephone the emergency numbers 112 and 199 or  the citizens hot line on 1460.
