Schools try to get ready for distance learning

Officials and teachers in Lyceums and Technical schools are rushing to get ready in time for distance learning that begins as of Monday.

Even though schools have started distance learning since the beginning of the school year, due to the fact that many students did not attend clashes due to COVID-19, now entire schools are asked to operate with distance learning, as the schools in Limassol and Paphos did during lockdown.

Some schools are facing problems due to network and equipment even though the Education Ministry said that all schools have the basic equipment and networks have been upgraded.

Participation in distance learning is obligatory and students not participating will get absence.

It is noted that the Education Minister is expected to submit a proposal for a subsidy scheme for teachers who use their own computers during the education process.
