Stelios Kyriakides Stadium in coastal Paphos could soon become a modern, state of the art athletics center now that Russian investors are keen to take it over, Philenews reports.
Friday’s report also said that authorities appear positive over the takeover proposal by the Russian investors who bought, a year ago, Paphos FC.
Russian-Hungarian businessman Roman Dubov is the main investor in Paphos FC.
As for the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium proposal this provides for the use of the athletics centre for a total of 90 years.
And it is accompanied by plans for new facilities, which, if implemented, will pave the way for the island’s second-best stadium now holding 9,394 people.
It has a full-size running track around the outside of its football and rugby playing field and is used for many athletics events throughout the year.
